Pets
Pets
Pets are caught monsters during an adventure.
Your current pets' information can be viewed with /pet
Pets retain 75% of their original HP and 50% of their original damage.
Catching pets
To catch a pet, you need to be at least level 5, and have a Butterfly Net.
If you meet both these conditions, you can catch a pet during an adventure with the /catch
command.
- Note: Crafting a Butterfly Net actually requires level 12 for string. As an alternative you may buy the Butterfly Net from the global market and use it at level 5.
The catch rate for pets, as a percentage, is ((user.level*5.678)/10). Additionally, the Taming attribute is meant to affect the catch rate, though the exact manner in which this effect manifests is as of yet undetermined.
Catching a new pet will give the new pet 20% of the XP needed to reach its next level, while completely replacing your old pet.
What Pet should I catch?
Since the last "pet" feature update, it is best to not catch any pet and keep your pet rock, then level the pet rock up.
Why? ALL pets now get +10 damage every time they level up. As the pet Rock starts at level 0, it gets 10 damage at level 1, 20 damage at level 2, and so on. You can use the pet list below to see how this compares to other obtainable pets.
Healing pets
To heal your pet, use the /pet heal <amount>
command. You can also use /pet heal auto
to fully heal your pet automatically.
The default healing item for your pet is the Health Potion.
You can change the default healing item to another potion type by using #!pset HealItem <item>
Pset
You can use /pet set <option> <value>
to configure your pet's name, various display options, and the percentage of XP it receives from each battle.
Specific variable for the #!pset command can be found here.
Leveling Pets
To level your pet up, you will first need to set your pet's xprate using the /pet set
command:
/pet set option:XP Rate value:[0-100]
. After the xprate has been set, every battle's yield of XP will be split between you and your pet, with a fraction of the XP equal to the xprate going to your pet.
If your pet is dead when starting the adventure, or if it dies during the adventure, it will not receive XP.
When your pet levels up, it will gain an additional 50 HP and an additional 10 damage.
